Marketing trends over the last 20 years have changed dramatically. Modern marketing is a lot more fast paced and trying to keep up with the trends. One of these trends is influencer marketing. An influencer is someone who has a big following in the social media world. This means the person has a large audience of people who more than likely look up to them or at least trust them and what they have to say. This has led to companies taking advantage of this and using these influencers to promote their products while paying the influencer a lot less than what it would take to make an TV or Radio advertisement.

When influencer marketing first came on the scene it was only celebrities who were used to promote products but now these influencers range from celebrities to every day people who are famous in the influencer world. Instagram is the most used platform for influencers and some have even turned social media influencing into full time careers.

Products can range from books, food, cars, podcasts, beauty products and so on. According to Adweek, Instagram influencer marketing is was set to $10 billion in market value by the end of 2020.

In 2021, your instagram feed in non stop ads and posts about products. Even by people with as little as a thousand followers so it does not seem like this will end anytime soon.
